Showcase - Wheels Day

On Wednesday 22nd of August, the Year 2 children participated in Wheels Day. We were showcasing another way we could get to school in conjunction with our school Travelwise programme.

Maths - WALT identify 2D and 3D Shapes

WAL about Geometry.

We have learnt that "Geometry" means shapes.  

We already knew a lot about 2D shapes so spent most of our time learning about 3D shapes.  We went on a shape treasure hunt around the school and took photo's of lots of different 3D shapes.  Some were easy to find and others were hard but it was lots of fun!  We made shape monsters using some of the shapes we had learnt about.

"I liked learning about 3D shapes.  My favourite shape is a rhombus because it looks like a diamond.  My shape monster is a trapezoid and it has 4 sides and 4 corners."
